During my two-month stay in Oviedo, I had two conversation partners. The first one is María, a mother of two and a hardcore Real Oviedo football fan. She’s been learning Mandarin Chinese at a private school for 1.5 years, so our conversation was mostly in Spanish. We met up almost every week, sometimes at school and sometimes at cafes. Through her, I got to take a tour inside the football stadium and the museum. I also met her teacher, Esther, from Shandong. Now that I left her in Oviedo (haha), we have our language exchange in Whatsapp.

María is a very caring soul; from her I have learned not only Spanish but to be considerate. Now she’s facing stages in her life.  All the best in the future, María!
